About these tools

Understanding productivity calculations

Date calculations can reduce repetitive calendar work when planning schedules, estimating working-day intervals, comparing calendar and working days, or reviewing a nonstandard workweek. The output is a planning aid based on the rules selected, not an official deadline determination.

Start with the Working Days Calculator

Select a start date and end date to calculate an inclusive range, meaning both endpoints count. Choose the weekdays to exclude as weekends and optionally enter holiday dates manually. The results separate total calendar days, working days, excluded weekend days, and excluded holidays.

Working days vs calendar days

Calendar days count every date in the range. Working days exclude the selected weekend weekdays and applicable manually entered holidays. For example, an inclusive Monday-through-Sunday range contains seven calendar days and normally five working days when Saturday and Sunday are excluded and no holidays apply.

Different work schedules

Saturday and Sunday are the defaults, but workplaces, industries, and locations can follow different schedules. Select any combination of weekdays as excluded weekend days so the calculation reflects the schedule you want to model.

Planning limitations

Holidays are not detected automatically and must be entered manually. Results depend on the inclusive date range, selected weekend days, and applicable holiday dates you supply. Use the result for planning and estimation, not as a determination of official legal, contractual, regulatory, or government deadlines.

Frequently asked questions

What productivity calculators are currently available?

The Working Days Calculator is currently available. It counts calendar and working days in an inclusive date range using the weekend days and holiday dates you provide.

Is the Working Days Calculator free to use?

Yes. You can use it without creating an account to compare date ranges and schedule assumptions.

What is the difference between working days and calendar days?

Calendar days include every date in the selected range. Working days exclude the weekdays selected as weekends and applicable holiday dates entered manually.

Does the calculator include the start and end dates?

Yes. The calculation is inclusive, so both endpoints count before weekend and holiday exclusions are applied.

Can I choose different weekend days?

Yes. Saturday and Sunday are selected by default, but you can choose any combination of weekdays to match a different schedule.

Are public holidays automatically excluded?

No. The calculator does not apply a national holiday calendar. Enter the relevant holiday dates manually, one date per line, for the schedule you are reviewing.

Can the calculator determine official business or legal deadlines?

No. It provides planning estimates based on the dates and exclusions you enter. Confirm official legal, contractual, regulatory, or government deadlines with the appropriate authoritative source.
